The brilliant sunshine and the array of colour on the sports field set the scene for a cheerful and lively Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Pre-Prep. Sports Day 2010. Throughout the day approximately 130 children competed in nine different events. Events included javelin, long jump, the classic sprint as well as the always amusing sack race. The morning saw the Nursery take to the field in style providing us with many gutsy and also entertaining performances! The afternoon involving Reception to Year 2 again made for quite a spectacle. The events were contested in a more competitive spirit yet always with a smile.
Much credit must go to the PE department for their superb organisation which meant the days’ events flowed with ease. Thanks and congratulations also go to the Year 5 and 6 Sports Leaders who took charge of the running of each event individually. The school is pleased to say that all these girls have now been awarded their Sports Leadership certificates. The day proved a successful and most enjoyable day for all. We now wait the Prep. Sports Day, which will take place on the 2nd July, with eagerness and hope that the day will be supported in similar fashion.
