Boing has arrived at The Manor

16th September 2016

Boing has arrived at The Manor and the children are loving it! We have teamed up with Boing Kids (in partnership with Oxford Brookes University) and launched our brand new Physical Education Curriculum for Years 1 and 2.

Tidying bedrooms, escaping the zoo and even trips to the wild west have provided the stimulus for engaging lessons that have had the children smiling throughout. The engaging new programme is focused on developing children’s Physical Literacy through a holistic model of Physical Education. Boing is grounded in innovative academic research and is based on inclusive fun, active play and individualised learning. The curriculum operates on the notion that the best Physical Education programmes are based around a holistic education rather than sporting proficiency. Boing removes structured parameters and promotes physical activity through active play; it is not concerned with sporting proficiency or competitive agendas.

It is not only the children who have been getting used to the new programme, the PE and Sports Department have twice been put through their paces already as Boing staff seek to ensure the quality of delivery.

There is a real buzz around Years 1 and 2 PE and it is only going to get better and better. Boing has infected the staff and children with a fresh enthusiasm for being active, it can’t be long until The Manor parents catch the bug…
