Concerts and Performances

 The concerts and performances within school and externally provide an enjoyable and integral part of school life.

AUTUMN TERM

  • Harvest Festival
    Upper Prep School Choir, Years 3 and 4 School Choir
  • Chapel
    Upper Prep School Choir
  • Form Assemblies
  • Ashmolean Museum to inaugurate the Christmas tree.
    Upper Prep School Choir, Chamber Choir
  • Training Orchestra Concert
    Held at the end of November to parents and friends.
    Also involves: Years 3 and 4 School Choir/Ensembles
  • Carols for Christmas’ Classic FM ask for schools to submit their own recordings of carols, of which some are  played on the station.
    Upper Prep School Choir
  • Carol Service
    Chamber Choir/ Upper Prep School Choir accompanied by Chamber Orchestra.
  • Years 3 and 4 Christmas Concert
  • Year 2 Christmas Play
  • Year 1 Christingle
  • Nativity Play
    Nursery and Reception each perform a play.
  • Manor Music Series
    Early evening short recital given by a member of the Music Department for children parents and staff.
  • Breakfast Concert
    (Prior to Associated Board exams)
  • Instrumental Class Concert
    Year 6 - All pupils receiving individual lessons perform a solo to their class and parents are invited.

SPRING TERM

  • Manor Concert (Years 5 and 6)
    Formal evening concert featuring all Years 5 and 6 pupils. Chamber Orchestra, Upper School Choir/Chamber Choir, Jazz Band, Recorder Group, String Group, solo/duets.
  • Instrumental Class Concert
    Years 3 and 4 - All pupils receiving individual lessons perform a solo to their class and parents are invited.
  • Form 1 Play
    Combining drama and music.
  • Chapel
    Upper School Choir provide a sacred anthem.
  • Breakfast Concert
    (Prior to Associated Board exams)
  • Manor Music Series
    Early evening short recital given by a member of the Music Department for children parents and staff.
  • Music for Youth Festival
    External music festival past successes:
    - Regionals-Upper School Choir/Chamber Choir/Jazz Band
    - National Finals at The Festival Hall – Chamber Choir / Jazz Band
    -School Proms at Royal Albert Hall – Chamber Choir

SUMMER TERM

  • Year 4
    All children take part in a major musical, incorporating music dance and drama.
  • Year 3
    PlayAll children take part in a major musical, incorporating music dance and drama.
  • Year 6
    PlayAll children take part in a major musical, incorporating music dance and drama.
  • Open Day
    Orchestras/choirs/ensembles/individual performances
  • Breakfast Concert
    (Prior to Associated Board Examinations)
