Here at The Manor Preparatory School there is a wonderfully happy, creative atmosphere. The exceptionally caring and invigorating tone of the school ensures that children really do beam with happiness: they are delightfully self-confident and articulate. Laughter is an essential part of the school day in our community where children are both cherished and challenged.
With a fine Georgian manor building at its heart, and set in extensive grounds on the outskirts of Abingdon, Oxfordshire, our school has a wide range of award-winning purpose-built classrooms and enviable specialist facilities. We have dedicated and professional staff supported by an enthusiastic and committed Board of Governors.
The warm-hearted ethos and values of The Manor are very special indeed: the children really do flourish and are very well prepared – in the widest possible sense – for their future lives.
The Manor has recently announced exciting plans in the next stage of its history. From September 2018 The Manor will begin the transition to full co-education. Currently boys have to leave The Manor at the end of Year 2 but from September 2018, this will no longer be the case; boys will be able to be educated alongside the girls from age 2-11.
We would love to tell you more. Please do call us to make an appointment or to find out about our Open Mornings.
After 25 years as a Head including 11 exceptionally happy years at The Manor, I have decided to retire at Christmas 2017. I am delighted that my successor will be Alastair Thomas, currently Headmaster of The Elms School, a thriving co-educational preparatory school at the foot of the Malvern Hills. I am certain that The Manor will go from strength to strength!
