We are fortunate to have a fantastic team of catering staff who provide wonderfully tasty and nutritious lunches!   The Manor is the envy of many other schools in the area in this respect. 

Our teachers, kitchen and dining room staff all work hard to provide, a cheerful, kind, positive and efficient lunch-time for all our children.   Teachers, teaching assistants and administration staff sit with the children and encourage manners and conversation.  It is a special opportunity to chat, relax and enjoy a social occasion. 

Children have a choice of two hot main courses meat/fish based or vegetarian.  Either a baked potato or salad (dependent on the time of year) are available as an alternative.  There are carrot and cucumber sticks on each table and plain sliced brown bread is always available.  A cooked pudding, yoghurt and other cold sweets are available and there is always fresh fruit available instead of, or in addition to, the pudding.    

Children are encouraged to try new ‘tastes’.  Each term we run taster sessions and children vote as to whether or not it is a dish that they would like to see included on the menu.   

As an integral part of the School, the kitchen staff work with teaching staff to match menus and meals to special activities that the children are involved in from ’buffalo burgers’ to Chinese, Indian and Mexican dishes. 

We cater for all special diets from gluten free to vegetarian, vegan, kosher, halal etc and our Catering Manager, Denise Higgins, is always happy to talk to parents about dietary requirements in relation to allergies or other specific needs.
