National Primary Schools Cross-country Championships 2018

28th March 2018

On Saturday, we took 5 pupils to Prestwold Hall to join up with other children from Oxfordshire where they represented their County in the National Cross Country Championships.

This was the first year that Oxfordshire had taken part in these Championships. Ceci B and Sophia H ran for Year 5 and Evey P, Issy I and Emily B ran for Year 6. It was serious cross-country terrain with long grass covering uneven ground, ditches, huge pools of water and a course that twisted and turned with some very narrow stages. When you have nearly 300 children running in each race, this can be extremely challenging! Manor pupils equipped themselves very well and couldn’t have put in better performances. The Year 5 team came 5th out of 60 teams which was a terrific result.

Bring on 2019, where I’m sure we will see even more Manor children representing Oxfordshire!
