Year 1 Space Assembly

22nd November 2017

Year 1 were very lucky to have a very special space assembly presented to them by Sophie V’s Daddy. He taught the children all about satellites. He showed them a video of satellites being built, talked about what they are for and explained the purpose of the different components.
The children then had the opportunity to build their own satellite using a cardboard box, a camera, solar panels, batteries, a blanket, a radio, a laptop and antennae! Then as a group acted out  the satellites movements around the Earth. Everyone got involved and had lots of fun!
