Young Art Oxford Exhibition

11th May 2017

I was amazed when I found out that my artwork had been awarded third place in the young art Oxford competition at the Ashmolean Museum.

There was a prize giving on the 4th May and I went with my parents, sister and grandparents who had driven down from Scotland. When I stepped into the museum, there was a buzz of excitement in the air, with people eager to see all the different artwork on display. After looking at all the amazing pictures we went downstairs to the room the prize giving was being held in. After a while the judges started calling out names of the winners and each person went up to the front where they were asked questions about their artwork. When my name was called out, I could feel all the eyes in the room on me and my artwork and I felt really proud of what I had created.

I was given a canvas of my picture and a bag full of art goodies as a prize. I will never forget the excitement and joy of that night at the Ashmolean and I can’t wait to do more art in the future!
