Learning Support

The Learning Support Department consists of three specialist teachers who provide extra help, mainly in English and Maths, to any pupils who need it. Children can be supported in small groups within their classrooms. Paired or individual lessons are often taught in the Learning Workshop which is centrally located in the school. It contains a range of multi-sensory teaching materials including laptop computers. Celebrating strengths and helping children to recognise them is vital for building confidence. Helping children to create targets which are: structured, manageable, attainable and realistic and time-scaled, encourages them to be involved and motivated in turning their weaknesses around.
