School Buses

A number of school buses from locations as far afield as Newbury in the South, Watchfield, Faringdon, Southmoor and Longworth in the West, Henley-on-Thames and Peppard Common in the East and Oxford, Long Hanborough, Freeland and Witney in the North serve The Manor on a daily basis.

In September 2009 Abingdon School, St Helen’s and The Manor started to run a joint bus service.

School Travel Plan

The School Travel Plan has been written by Oxfordshire County Council’s Travel Plans Team and our Bursar, Mr David Ramm, on behalf of our school community.

Our School Travel Plan aims to:

  • Reduce the use of cars for journeys to our school
  • Replace single-occupancy car journeys with school bus use
  • To car-share where car travel can’t be avoided

Key benefits of doing this will be:

  • A reduction in our school’s Carbon Footprint
  • Less congestion near the school
  • Fewer cars on the roads, improving road safety for all
  • Cleaner air around the school

The plan records how we currently travel to our school, the changes we will aim to achieve in the next couple of years, and specific actions we will undertake to achieve our aims. Download a copy of our School Travel Plan.
