Form 1 Visit The Botanical Gardens

Form One had a damp but very interesting and fact-finding morning at the Oxford Botanic Gardens on Friday. Emma greeted us and explained how much we depend on plants for our clothes, food, drink and some household items. One class went with Emma to the Rainforest and the Desert to discover these very useful plants, while the others walked around the gardens outside. There were lovely flowers and herbs to smell and look at, also rhubarb and gooseberries and strawberries (only in flower and not ready for eating)! The classes then swapped over before we returned to school for a picnic lunch before swimming. It was a very busy but most enjoyable day!
