We aim to foster a love of the written and spoken word so that each child feels confident in the essential skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening. With careful guidance involving much fun and laughter, pupils are introduced to a wide and exciting array of literature and encouraged to explore and experiment with the different genres, both creative and non-fiction. From Jolly Phonics in the Pre-Prep to reading Shakespeare in Years 5 and 6, each child works towards his or her potential. We follow the National Literacy Strategy expanding and developing those areas we feel are relevant and interlocking it with the Common Entrance Syllabus.
