History

History

We use a wide and varied range of resources and artefacts, many of which we have built up in school, and others which are provided by our families.  We encourage each year group to have visitors and to go out on trips.   These include  Cogges Farm, Milestones Museum, Fishbourne Roman Palace, the Ashmolean Museum, Highclere Castle and Sulgrave Manor. Our visitors change annually and often include parents and grandparents who talk from personal experience, or professionals such as the “History Off The Page” group who visit with resources and activities to bring topics such as the Victorian school room to life. We encourage a lively, questioning approach which has been enhanced in recent years by interactive Whiteboard presentations and active research on suitable websites.
