Boys in Year 3 for the first time in The Manor’s history

7th September 2018

Back in January 2017 The Manor announced that it would be welcoming boys into Year 3 for the first time.  Up until this point, the school was co-educational up to the age of 7 and available to girls only from 7-11.
This exciting development is now underway and the school is delighted to be accepting registrations from boys and girls creating a fully co-educational environment.
The decision to extend the school’s provision for boys throughout the school is in recognition of existing and prospective parent feedback and their desires for an excellent school that can serve both their sons and daughters.
The Manor’s much-loved aims, ethos and values will remain unchanged. Central to this is the school’s success in creating a wonderfully happy, creative atmosphere where every individual is challenged and cherished to reach their potential.
Chair of Governors and former Manor parent, Shaun Forrestal, said, “We are delighted that we are now in a position to start welcoming boys to the age of 11. This is an exciting development in the school’s history and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to families. We are pleased to be able to better serve the community throughout our extensive catchment area whilst continuing to offer an education that is based firmly on meeting the needs of every individual.”
Co-education at The Manor means an even wider range of clubs and activities will be available for all the children, with a programme of over 100 extra-curricular activities to choose from. Completion of a brand new Sports Hall also underpins the exciting development programme that is underway, and extends even further the breadth of opportunities that are on offer.
Headmaster, Alastair Thomas added “These are incredibly exciting times for The Manor. The school has an exceptional record of success in ensuring its leavers move on to the next school that is perfect for them. We are delighted we will be able to extend this provision to boys and are certain that we will continue to achieve scholarships, awards and exhibitions across all areas.”
