The School Day
Classrooms open across the school at 8:30am.
Before School
Breakfast Club – 7:30am-8:00am
Breakfast Club, for children aged 3 and over, is bookable in advance either on a termly basis or ad hoc and carries a charge of £7.75 per session. The children start the day with a delicious breakfast supervised by a core team of staff, before being escorted to Early Birds. Tucking into homemade porridge, choosing from a wide range of cereals, toast, pancakes and other tasty options, the children are well fuelled for the day ahead.
Early Birds – 8:00am-8:30am
A great opportunity for the children to play with their friends before the official start of the day. Early Birds is free of charge and enables parents to drop their children at school from 8:00am. Two-year-olds, who are considered to be settled by their Key Person, may attend Early Birds. There is no need to pre-book.
After School
Extended Day – 3:30/3:55pm to 5:30pm
The after-school care options are wide and varied depending on the needs of each family and age of the children. Including opportunities to play outside as well as homely activities such as board games, Lego, colouring and other non-screen-based activities, the children enjoy spending time with their friends in different age groups after the core school day has ended. Collection is flexible for parents and often luring the children away is the hardest part! For the older children, the session shifts to quiet reading from 5.00- 5.30pm so that this has been completed before they head home. For the younger children, this slot may include stories, rhymes, or quiet access to an educational programme depending on their needs on the day.
Pre-Nursery (Under 3s):
Children under three years of age can stay at school until 5:00pm, once settled and with permission from Miss Tracy Heath (Pre-Nursery Co-Ordinator). Bookings are required for this provision within the prior term and will apply to the whole of the next term. There is no additional charge for this care unless a space is not booked in advance or booked and then not used.
Pre-Nursery (3+) to Year 2:
Children from the age of three to Year 2 can stay in school, with no additional charge, until 5:30pm. There are a variety of toys and activities for the children to enjoy.
For children in Pre-Nursery and Nursery, bookings are required for this provision in the prior term and will apply to the whole of the next term. There is no additional charge for this care unless a space is not booked in advance or booked and then not used.
Year 3 to Year 6:
Children from Years 3 to 6 can stay in school, with no additional charge, until 5:30pm. There will be games and activities for the children to enjoy from 4:00pm to 5:00pm, and then 5:00pm to 5:30pm is quiet reading time.
Late Stay/Tea – 5:30pm to 6:00pm
To finish a busy day, children (aged 3+) can stay from 5:30pm until 6:00pm for a packed tea made by our wonderful catering team in the Dining Room. The tasty picnic includes a variety of different items to complement the hot meal they have already had at lunch time. The menu varies but can include tasty wraps, pasta salad pots, noodle dishes or filled baguettes, as well as fruit, juice, and other snacks. A great option to ensure your children are very nearly bedtime ready when you collect them or if they are whizzing off to another club later in the evening. This service must be booked in advance and there is a charge of £10.85 per session.
