School Fees

Fees at The Manor Prep currently include all books, lunches, snacks, most equipment and all educational visits which take place during the school day. Wraparound care for children aged 3+, from 8:00am to 5:30pm, (8.00am – 5.00pm once settled for Under 3’s), and the majority of our extra-curricular clubs are also included. Individual instrumental lessons, instrument hire, residential trips (Years 4, 5 and 6) and specific additional educational support (for example for SEND or EAL pupils) are considered extras.

At The Manor Prep School, we are pleased to offer the Government’s 15 Hours Funded Childcare scheme for all children aged three and four. This universal entitlement provides up to 15 hours of funded early education per week (570 hours per year), helping families access high-quality early years provision while supporting children’s development during these important formative years. Funding begins from the term after your child’s third birthday and can be used towards eligible sessions in our Nursery. Our Admissions Team is always happy to guide families through the process and explain how the funding can be applied to your child’s place. All pupils are automatically included in the Personal Accident Scheme and this cost is included within the tuition fees. If you wish your child to be included in the School Fees Refund Scheme, please complete the appropriate application form and return it to the Bursary (egale@manorprep.org); the cost will be added to your school account each term. Please read the leaflets carefully to ensure you understand the benefits that these schemes provide and, if applicable, advise the companies of any existing medical conditions.

Bursaries

At The Manor Prep School, we are committed to widening access to a Manor education through our means-tested bursary programme.

Bursaries are intended to provide financial assistance to families who would otherwise be unable to access an independent education. Awards are made solely on the basis of demonstrated financial need and are not linked to academic performance. However, all applicants are considered through the School’s normal admissions process to ensure that The Manor is the right environment for the child to flourish and benefit fully from all that the School offers.

Bursaries are awarded to a small number of families each year and are funded through a limited annual bursary budget. Demand for support often exceeds the funding available and, as a result, meeting the financial criteria for assistance does not guarantee that a bursary award will be made.

Awards are tailored to individual family circumstances and are designed to contribute towards school fees. Bursary awards do not cover the full cost of school fees, and all families in receipt of bursary support are expected to make a financial contribution towards their child’s education.

There are no residency requirements for bursary applicants, although priority may be given to children from the local community.

All bursary awards are subject to annual review and may be adjusted in line with changes to a family’s financial circumstances.

Applying for a Bursary

Families interested in bursary support are encouraged to visit the School before beginning an application. This provides an opportunity to learn more about life at The Manor and to decide whether the School is the right fit for their child and family. Applications for bursary support run alongside the admissions process and are submitted through our secure online bursary portal.

Applicants will be asked to provide detailed information about their financial circumstances, including household income, savings, investments, assets and other relevant financial commitments. The financial circumstances of both parents, and any current partner of either parent, will be taken into account. Evidence of income and capital will be required.

Applications are reviewed initially by the School’s Bursary Committee. Following this first assessment, families will either be notified that their application has not been successful or invited to progress to the second stage of the process. Progression to the second stage does not guarantee that a bursary award will be made.

The second stage involves an independent assessment carried out by a specialist external provider. This will usually include either a home visit or online meeting during which the information provided will be verified and a fuller assessment made of the family’s financial circumstances and level of need.

As every family’s circumstances are unique, bursary applications are assessed individually. Unfortunately, this means we are unable to provide specific eligibility thresholds or indicate in advance whether a bursary award may be offered, or at what level.

Following receipt of the independent assessment, the School undertakes a full review of all applications and supporting information. Final bursary awards are made based on demonstrated financial need, the individual circumstances of each application and the funding available within the School’s annual bursary budget.

As bursary funding is limited, the School is unable to support every family who applies and applications meeting the criteria for financial need may not receive an award where demand exceeds available funding.

Families will be notified of the outcome as soon as decisions have been reached. All information provided as part of the application process is treated in strict confidence.
