Welcome to The Manor!

Here at The Manor there is a wonderfully happy, creative atmosphere. The exceptionally caring and invigorating tone of the school ensures that children really do beam with happiness: they are delightfully self-confident and articulate. Laughter is an essential part of the school day in our community where children are both cherished and challenged.

With a fine Georgian manor building at its heart, and set in extensive grounds on the outskirts of Abingdon, our school has a wide range of award-winning purpose built classrooms and enviable specialist facilities. We have dedicated and professional staff supported by an enthusiastic and committed Board of Governors. The warm-hearted ethos of The Manor is very special indeed: the children really do flourish and are very well prepared - in the widest possible sense - for their future lives.

We would love to tell you more. Please do call us to make an appointment or to find out about our Open Days. I very much look forward to meeting you.

U11 Regional Hockey Finals

The Manor U11 hockey team played at the County Girls Final on Wednesday 10th March.  The quality of the Hockey was at a very high standard throughout the afternoon.  Our girls took some time to adjust to the pace and their first game against Eynsham finished without either side scoring but we had lots of chances. We played with more conviction in our second game and drew 0-0 against the ultimate winners of the tournament.  Next up came a game against Cumnor this was a very exciting end to end game!  The final score was 1-0 to Cumnor.  We played our best game against Harriers. Everything clicked we had depth on the pitch and commitment in the D which paid off with a wonderful goal by Lydia T.The girls kept up the pressure for the whole match and we ended the game with a superb poacher’s goal scored by Elizabeth E.  The Manor were 2-0 victors. This was a great experience for our girls who were rewarded by hot chocolate (with spray cream!).

Thank you to all the girls for their effort and to our dedicated supporters!  Good luck to Cumnor and Eynsham for the final round in April.

A busy day at The Manor!

ManorDayWhat a busy day the boys and girls at The Manor have had today! Making the most of a beautiful morning some parents and children enjoyed a wonderful Breakfast Concert whilst others appreciated the confidence and talent of Year 2 children at the Poetry Festival.

Meanwhile, Year 3 girls were all Vikings for the day in a History off the Page event.  As they examined ancient artefacts and trades, Nursery and Pre-Nursery boys and girls explored a real fire engine and heard all about the work of the firemen in Abingdon.  Dodge ball on the front lawn was a perfect way to let off steam afterwards!

The sunshine allowed the boys and girls in Year 1 to work on their Maths outside.  Their focus and motivation was delightful!

For the older girls, the Scholastic Book Fair provided a fabulous opportunity to choose a great book for the weekend.

They should all sleep well tonight!  See more photos.

The Manor Prep

"Our daughter absolutely adores The Manor and so do we. Not only are the teaching staff excellent, also the administration staff are simply wonderful. It seems to us that nothing is too much trouble for The Manor and they seem to get it just right."
