When Ruby P smashed the ball home from 12 yards, we were 1-0 up in the final of The East Regional IAPS competition. However, half-time arrived and it was clear that the girls were feeling the effects of a long day of hockey. It wasn’t clear if they had another 7 minutes in their legs having worked so hard in the build up to the final but we should never have doubted them.
The second half performance was full of grit and determination and when the final whistle blew the girls were elated. They had gone into the tournament with the aim of qualifying for the National Finals but to qualify as winners was amazing. It will be a fantastic experience for the girls when we travel to Repton on 13th November for the National Finals and they have earned the right to have a really enjoyable day.
