Learning about the Arctic Circle

10th February 2016

This week, Year 1 were excited to welcome the Arctic explorer Mr Jim Wilkinson to The Manor.

Year 1 have been learning about the Arctic Circle and many of the animal inhabitants of the frozen tundra.

The children had written questions to ask Mr Wilkinson. They enjoyed seeing photographs of his trip and learning what it was like to visit and live in the Arctic .

At the end of the talk there was even time to try on some of the different pieces of clothing needed to keep warm at the North Pole.

It was a wonderfully interesting and informative talk and there are now many children who aspire to follow in his footsteps!
