Year 3 took part in a wonderful Viking Day recently. The children all arrived in fabulous Viking costumes and took part in a wealth of craft activities including candle making, crafting amulet necklaces and making their own clay runes and cloth bag to put them in. They even tried their hand at making ‘wise woman’ cures amongst many other activities.
Their Viking Leader for the day, Sue, showed the children how to make coins by melting pewter and then led them in an archaeological dig to discover ancient artefacts hidden in trays of soil.
The girls all enjoyed a very exciting and educational day.
