This week, we held the finals of the Year 3 to 6 Inter-House Bake-off 2017.
The Bake-off this year started with a cookie round which attracted 96 entries – can you even imagine what my tummy felt like after tasting all those cookies!
32 children progressed into the 2nd round which was bread – based on what I smelt and tasted, there was no doubt in my mind that we could open a Manor Bakery!
Then, to the all-important final! This year, the 16 children that went through to the final had to bake a cake that reflected their hobby. Each and every one of the cakes was visually stunning and it was a really hard decision to whittle it down to one winner and one runner-up in each category. But a winner needed to be chosen and the following children were victorious:
Year 3 and 4
Winner: Frankie H with her ‘Manor Swim Team’ themed cake
Runner-up: Lucinda S with her ‘Swimming with Dolphins’ themed cake
Year 5 and 6
Winner: Lily S with her ‘Art’ themed cake
Runner-up: Alina F with her ‘Ballet’ themed cake
Many congratulations to all the children who entered the Bake-off this year. I hope it has inspired you to continue cooking.
