Medalists at QAS U10 Netball Tournament!

26th February 2018

On a very cold but very sunny Saturday morning, the children were really excited to play in their very first netball tournament.

The team, made up of 8 children, played five matches in the first round, winning some and losing some. In the second round, they played off for the Plate and after a mix of wins, losses and draws, they all waited in anticipation to find out their final placing at the presentation ceremony. However whilst tucking into the delicious bacon butties, the organisers told us that as it was a draw between the top two Plate teams and as this had never happened before, they were to play one further match to determine the winner!

The team therefore hurried back onto the courts and although they worked so hard after a long morning of playing 10 netball matches already, the final score was 1-0 to Maltmans’s Green. They were disappointed not to win, especially after the unexpected excitement of a play off, but everyone was delighted to come away as Plate Runner Up and a silver medal each!

Well done to everyone in the team and a huge thank you to parents for supporting.
