National Success at the Biathlon Championships on Saturday 24 November
Our six biathletes took part in this prestigious competition in Leeds. This is a record number of Manor children who have ever qualified for this event from the Area Round. All six children performed brilliantly, reaching ‘personal bests’ in their swim and run. The U11 team finished with a Bronze medal which is a phenomenal achievement to come 3rd in the country. Megan P was our top individual, finishing 10th in the U10 competition. The Manor is so proud of all the children that competed.
Abingdon Prep U8 Tag Rugby Festival on Thursday 8 November
The children embarked on their second Tag Rugby Festival of the term, honing their skills in games against Chandlings, Cokethorpe and Christ Church Cathedral Prep Schools.
St Hugh’s U8 to U11 Relay Cross Country Tournament on Thursday 8 November
Whilst a team of U8s competed in Abingdon Prep’s U8 Tag Rugby Festival, The Manor was also well represented in all of the girls’ categories at St Hugh’s Relay Cross Country. This was a team event, with great results; U10 Winner, U11 Runner Up, U9 3rd place and U8 5th place.
Whole Year Group Hockey Fixtures in November
Every child in Year 4, 5 and 6 took part in our annual whole year group Hockey fixtures against Warwick Prep. It was our turn to host and all matches took place at Tilsley Park in Abingdon on their fabulous astroturf pitches – over 130 Manor children played Hockey in one week!
Year 3 to 6 House Hockey
Well done to all of the children who took part in House Hockey at Tilsley Park during the last week of term. Congratulations to the winning House of each year group:

Year 6 – Falcons
Year 5 – Falcons
Year 4 – Hawks
Year 3 – Kestrels
Year 6 House Water Polo
Well done to Eagles who were our Year 6 House Water Polo Winners. This was most definitely our loudest House Water Polo event ever, and that was just the children!
It has been another incredibly busy and exciting half term of sport. A break over the Christmas holidays and a chance to recharge their batteries was well needed, in order for the children to return to school and another action-packed sporting calendar in January 2019!
