Year 6 Earthshot Projects

7th April 2021

Towards the end of term, the Year 6 children presented their exciting Earthshot projects. The Earthshot Prize is designed to incentivise change and help to repair our planet over the next ten years.

Here at The Manor the children delivered innovative ideas such as transport fuelled by air pollution, seed spreading drones to plant new trees, multi-purpose recycled windmills with additional air filters! The winning project from Scarlett, Skye, Gigi and Olivia explored in great detail the problems faced in the ocean and plastic pollution. They explained how the robot would collect plastics, return to base when full and even how it would survive an animal attack!

Well done to all of the children in Year 6 for their hard work, excellent ideas and great teamwork over the past few weeks.

Where Next

We are delighted to see our Year 6 pupils moving on to a fantastic variety of outstanding Senior Schools and, this year, we are also celebrating an astonishing number of scholarships.  Our year group of 53 children has gained an impressive total of 28 awards between them across a variety of disciplines, ranging from Academic to Sport, Art and Music. Well done Year 6!
