Year 6 Blenheim Palace Visit

9th March 2022

Year 6 Blenheim Palace

On Tuesday 8 March, Year 6 were invited to Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Winston Churchill.

We were lucky enough to have knowledgeable palace guide who gave a fantastic tour of the State Rooms as well as the brand new Churchill exhibition. The children also got the opportunity to take on the role of M15 officers and solve the clues to help win the war! They enjoyed a range of things from hearing Churchill’s powerful speeches to learning of his invention of the siren suit.

The children excelled themselves in their behaviour and enthusiasm, and learnt a huge amount to compliment their study of World War II in History this term.

Where Next

We are delighted to see our Year 6 pupils moving on to a fantastic variety of outstanding Senior Schools and, this year, we are also celebrating an astonishing number of scholarships.  Our year group of 53 children has gained an impressive total of 28 awards between them across a variety of disciplines, ranging from Academic to Sport, Art and Music. Well done Year 6!
