Dress to Express Day

14th February 2023

Dress to Express

On Dress to Express Day, the children and staff alike enjoyed wearing clothes and accessories to express themselves. Dress to Express Day is about expressing our interests, feelings and uniqueness and we are grateful for all of your support in celebrating this day and also your donations totalling £241.07 towards children’s mental health charity, Place2Be.

This year’s theme for Children’s Mental Health Week was ‘Let’s Connect’, and we have been talking all week about how we can make meaningful and healthy connections with others to support our mental health and sense of wellbeing.

The House Captains also spoke to the school on Monday morning to teach them about inspirational young people like Greta Thunberg, Malala Yousafzai and Thandiwe Abdullah who have changed the world by thinking about and connecting with others to do good. They also led everyone in a whole-school Mindfulness practice and gave us some helpful tips on how to connect, which can sometimes be as simple as asking someone how they are feeling. Well done and thank you, House Captains!
