A bumper year of Senior School scholarships for The Manor!

22nd May 2023

Year 6 Celebrating their success

We are, once again, delighted to see our Year 6 pupils moving on to a fantastic variety of outstanding senior schools and, this year, we are also celebrating an astonishing number of scholarships.  Our year group of 56 children has gained an impressive total of 31 awards across a variety of disciplines, ranging from Academic to Sport, Art and Music.  A number have also been recognised with All Rounder Awards.

This time last year we were feeling particularly proud of our first co-educational Year 6 cohort and we are delighted again to see our class of 2023 taking up places at Abingdon School, Bloxham School, Cheltenham Ladies’ College, Cokethorpe, Cranford House, Headington School, Magdalen College School, Our Lady’s Abingdon, Queen Anne’s, Rye St Antony, St Helen and St Katharine, Wychwood and Wycombe Abbey.

Head, Alastair Thomas, comments;

“Our Year 6 pupils have impressed us all with a truly wonderful set of results. It is hugely important to us at The Manor that we ensure all of our children progress to a Senior School which is right for them, as every child is different and we want to see each individual flourish in an environment which suits their unique personalities and talents.  We wish them all well as their educational journey continues.”

We take time with all of our families to guide them through the Senior School admissions process as well as preparing every child, not just academically but also pastorally, for the road ahead.  Our dedicated teachers, from Pre-Nursery up to Year 6, are committed to cherishing, challenging and inspiring our children throughout their time at The Manor and we look forward to seeing our current Year 6 children move on knowing that we have given them the best possible start.

The children will now spend the rest of their time at The Manor enjoying the benefits of Year 6 with a five day residential trip, gala performances of their final school play, the Summer Fete, Sports Day and finally finishing with their Leavers’ Assembly and Prize Giving.

We congratulate all of our Year 6 children on their successes and wish them the very best for the future.
