We are thrilled to have been announced as the winner of the award for the Most Dynamic STEM Programme in a Prep School, in the Muddy Stilettos Best Schools Awards 2023!
As a school, what we are always striving to offer is opportunity. We want children to experience a broad and balanced curriculum, further enriched by extra-curricular provision which will expand their horizons and enable them to ‘have a go’ at anything, and everything!
Our focus on STEM has increased over recent years, aided by investment in our facilities and resources as well as the recruitment of some truly dynamic teachers into key roles.
We aim to inspire all of our children to be curious, questioning, confident and brave in their learning. When it comes to STEM subjects there are two key skills which we are aiming to promote:
Problem Solving to enable our children to handle unexpected situations or difficult challenges.
Creative Thinking to enable our children to view and solve problems openly and with innovation.
We can measure the success of our dynamic STEM programme using our children’s results in Science and Maths versus the national average, but although impressive, these results are not what it’s all about. Far more gratifying is seeing our children be curious in their learning, confident when approaching new challenges and creative and agile when it comes to problem-solving; we believe that these are key skills for future success.
Winning this award is a true testament to our teachers’ dedication and creativity and how they inspire our children every day.
