Last term, Year 5 had two amazing Science trips to SHSK thanks to Mrs Partridge (Head of Chemistry). She organised a wonderful session to enhance our ‘Materials and their Properties’ topic. We took part in six activities, which included: building molecular models, testing syringes of solid, liquid and gas, subliming iodine, measuring volume with ethanol and water, dissolving sugar on a balance (conservation of mass) and last but not least, making slime. It was so much fun! Then to top it all off Mrs Partridge and I lit methane
bubbles. As you can see from the photos, the children loved it.
