Year 3 started their week in style with a trip to Ufton Court and stepped back in time to the Viking Age! We very much enjoyed a day of hands-on activities and learning about what life was like for Norse people in the year 870. We discovered how the Vikings trained as warriors, with a masterclass on battle formations and how to fight using a sword and shield, and practised survival skills including starting a fire and making woollen thread. Sailing was also explored through an interactive longboat experience and the children had an opportunity to raid treasure chests for silks, spices and more! We had a great day bringing our History topic to life!
