Challenge. Cherish. Inspire.

New Head Appointed

22nd March 2024

We are delighted to announce that Mrs Rachel Hamlyn has been appointed by the Board of Governors to be the next Head of The Manor; she will take up the role in September 2024.

Rachel is joining us from Cheltenham College Prep School where she is currently Deputy Head (Academic). Prior to that, she was Head of Middle School at St Hugh’s School and she has also held various roles in the maintained sector. An experienced senior leader and passionate educator she has a wealth of experience, from the Early Years to Key Stage 3.

Rachel says: ‘I am thrilled and very honoured to be taking on the leadership of The Manor. The values of ‘challenge, cherish and inspire’ really resonate with my desire to focus on the individual in order to nurture the potential of each child; supporting their growth and development in the broadest possible sense is at the heart of a brilliant school.’

Rachel is very experienced in advising families when choosing and preparing for senior school entry, as well as having a proven track record in academic and curriculum development. In addition, she recognises the importance of building strong relationships with all members of the school community; Rachel had an immediate rapport with the children, staff and Governors during the recruitment process.

We have absolute confidence that Rachel’s warmth, clear vision and dynamism make her the perfect choice to continue to develop our already outstanding school.
